Competency & Capability

Prince William Sound is home to the largest, single concentration of oil spill response equipment in the world. Through a partnership with the Chenega and Tatitlek village corporations and a longstanding contract with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, Chugach Alaska Services has provided the bulk of the personnel who operate and maintain this equipment.

Since 1994, CAS personnel have participated in the oil spill response training in throughout PWS and southcentral Alaska. In addition, our people have worked alongside Alyeska to ensure all of the response equipment is maintained at or above regulatory requirements.

With this longevity, CAS has garnered the world’s top experience in spill response services crucial to safely moving oil in both land and marine environments. With this expertise, a number of our people have been asked to lend their talent and knowledge to actual spills, most notably the major spill that occurred in the Gulf of Mexico.

While our primary background is spill response, CAS stands ready to support any endeavor, large or small. With our depth of maintenance experience, we are positioned to provide professional, qualified individuals who will align more than a quarter century of competency and capability to customer goals.
